Please welcome Hi Maxx to the storm!
Q1: Welcome to our ever-growing storm! Can you introduce yourself to our readers and your soon-to-be fans? Walk us through the shoes of Hi Maxx?
A1: Hello! My name is Justin. My stage name is Hi Maxx.
I am from the city of Buffalo, in New York. I’ve been producing music for just over 10 years. When I was young, I always found myself enjoying trance music.
Whether it be the famed Tiesto, all the way to Armin Van Buuren.
My favorite tracks from the guys have to be Armins track “Unforgivable” and Tiestos track, “Lethal Industry“. Those guys right there are my inspiration and huge mentors of mine.
Q2: What musical genre are you primarily working with/focused on right now?
A2: The genre I find myself working on the most is a lot of Tech House, Techno, and Progressive Trance
Q3: How have you been occupying your 2020 year? Any sort of new ventures we can expect to see in 2021?
A3: So far 2020 has been good to me not only as an artist, but as a person. I have a lot of new music that I’ve worked on;very close to release.
2021 definitely holds many new things and opportunities. I’ve recently moved back to the city where I can be more in the scene. As well as around people who inspire, and motivate me.
Q4: What’s your favorite thing to do after a set? Back to the green room or head to the crowd?
A4: Usually after any set, I’ll take the time to greet and thank whoever came out that night. Take some pictures, and then head to the green room to clean up and relax.
Q5: Walk us through the creative process behind Lift Off?
A5: My track “Lift Off” was created based on space. Crazy, right? Essentially I decided that I wanted to create something unique and impacting. I used roughly 3 to 4 different sounds from all different genres to create “Lift Off.” Which I still haven’t figured out what genre I want to call it.
Q6: What has been your experience with festivals in regards to witnessing wild shit? Give us an example of a time you couldn’t believe your eyes!
A6: I’ve played at my fair-share of festivals. I’ve yet to see something, “crazy.” Although, one time I was playing my set and these four girls all with flags were dancing and running around with the biggest smiles on their faces. That made me humbled and happy to see that people enjoyed what I was playing that much.
Q7: Who is in your scope as far as collaborations go?
A7: As far as collaborations go, I’m not allowed to say much yet, but you will find out soon enough!
Q8: Dream venue/festival? Where and why?
A8: My dream festival has always been Tomorrowland. Tomorrowland if you don’t already know, is located in Belgium. Why is Tomorrowland my dream festival? Well, it’s TOMORROWLAND.
Q9: Who do you see killing it on the daily? Shout-them out!
A9: I wanna give a shout out to the one and only Royce Matrix. Based out of Atlanta, Georgia. He recently got himself a nightclub position as a DJ! He also has a lot of cool music that you guys should check out! Royce if you see this, keep doing your thing man!
